Default 2000 SL2: Check Engine Light

My check engine light came on and I went to get it checked at a Saturn dealership. They said I needed to replace the EGR valve, Coolant temp sensor & connector, and the thermostat.

I was wondering if any of these are absolutely necessary, or if I can test to see which one may be the real problem- I don't trust them since they also said I needed spark plugs and wires needed replaced and I just had those done less than a year ago.

Thanks.

Yep the last Saturn dealer closed some time ago. Oh and by the way, no need to double post.

oh -- and never ever go to a dealership at the end of the month -- the service writers are trying to meet quotas
