hello everyone this question is for my father who lives in OHio. He has a 2000 sl1 that only starts when it wants to. he has already replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ecm,fuel pump etc..... he just purchased a new brain and installed it, the car started then died. They told him it had to be reprogrammed. My question is how do you reprogram it ( security code?)and how do pull codes without a reader? im pretty knowledgable about cars just not saturns.

sounds like more of a power issue than a spark or fuel issue. Does it continue to turn over while he is trying to start it?

Ive never heard of needing to re-program a computer besides driving it for a while. (100 miles or so) and to get the codes you can have autozone scan it for free.
