I see quite a few on craigslist for sale around here. Prices aren't too bad and you can always talk people down some with cash in hand.

Yeah, I have found an 2000 SC, and a 2001 SC for less than 5k. I'll have to save some cash and see what I can find.

The resale value on Saturns is complete crap making bargains available.

Merkle85, just for reference purposes, do you have an idea on about how many miles this engine had on it? I believe from your other posts that the odometer was broken but maybe you got an estimate from the former owner. I would appreciate the data.

If I had to guess 180k-220k miles on it. That's just by the way the car 'felt'
The previous owner had inherited it from his dead uncle I believe.

The odometer stopped working right as it was ticking over to 150k miles. The car obviously had not been maintained. It had an oil leak and was driven while the oil level was very low causing premature wear and tear. It had also been towed behind an R.V. and looked like it had been sitting up for years.

Thanks.

Do you know whether the car was "dolly towed" or "flat towed" ??

It was towed on a flat bed with the transmission in neutral. I was there when it was loaded and unloaded. That wasn't the cause of the damage.

My g/f said it just felt down on power, it wouldn't start, then it stopped cranking over properly one day. Idk when the failure actually happened.
