My 93 Saturn SL1 was running perfectly fine up until this morning. It was kinda chilly out (47 degrees) When I went to start her up she wouldn''t fire up - she would turn over but that is all she gave. I''m wondering if this is a fuel pump issue overnight or does something like this go out over time?

This is the first and only real issue I have had with her so something like this is not shocking. I just don''t wanna have to get rid of her [img]smileys/smiley19.gif[/img] I love this car!

Well ... I am assuming that the reason your car did not start is the fact that the engine is not getting fuel


First thing I would do, is to make sure somebody did not help themselves to the ''liquid gold'' lying in my fuel tank.


Second thing, I would check the fuse for the fuel pump (which is located on the instrument panel junction block (10amp fuse).


Thirdly, make sure there is voltage available at the connection for the fuel pump (the grey wire). If there is no voltage at the plug, I would get a new fuel pump relay, and try again. If the voltage is present, but still no fuel to the engine, the pump may be shot.

 

I''d start by testing to see if the fuel pump runs. Theres a test port on the interior fuse panel.
