Odometer Troubles
For the second time since 2006, our 1994 Saturn SL has stripped the gear teeth of its odometer. Mileage records became inaccurate at 131,000 miles due to data extrapolation. Any ideas for good reliable help and service within a 30-mile radius of ZIP 92084 would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance (TYIA), Bill
This is a common issue with the Outlook. Are you positive this time around it is a stripped gear?
I'd say you're doing pretty well for 26 years. The second one I'm guessing was rebuilt or from the junkyard.
Most mechanics will not order from junkyards as they do not what to have to warranty whatever shows up.. you'll likely have a better chance bringing one from a yard and asking to install with no warranty. I think 97 was the last year of mechanical odometers for the Outlook
