Default Hayne's for V6 was an afterthought!

I am quite upset the Haynes manual because it is obvious it was written for 4 bangers, not V6's. The V6 sections are more like footnotes to mystery pages and those pages refer to other pages so forth and so on! I would advise against a Saturn L-series Haynes Repair Manual (based on a complete teardown and rebuild) unless you have a 4 cylinder Saturn! Maybe they should have written two books. Nevertheless, it wasted my time and rarely do I find a nugget of useful information in this expensive manual! They never tell you what size wrenches to use and refer to SEE ILLUSTRATION that could be on any adjacent pages. The black n white photos are rarely helpful. This manual wastes so much time and confuses the heck out of me with misinformation interleaving different models of Saturns. Okay, I feel better now! Thanks for reading my rant!

Chiltons hasn't been worth a damn since the 70's and Haynes only produces the manuals after so many units of a vehicle are sold. That way, they can justify the cost of purchasing one and tearing it down. I guess Saturn didn't sell enough of the V-6 models to satisfy the Haynes people. I spoke to a rep from them years ago when I was pissed off that they didn't put out a manual for the Mitsubishi Diamante Station Wagon like I had at the time. But I agree that their manuals aren't anywhere near as inclusive as they were back in the 80's and 90's.
