HI Everyone, I just bought my first Saturn 3 weeks ago. It is a 2000 sl, I really like the car it has 65000 miles on it. I found this site and have been lurking for a few days, but now I have a problem.

About a week after I bought the car the low engine coolant came on, I took it to my oil change place figuring it was just low, they topped it off the car was fine, until 4 days later when it came on again, So I called the dealer went back and they said I had a lose hose and tightened it for me. This Thursday.....yep on again, again I go to the dealer now they say its the water pump, So I am taking it tomorrow,Oh and when I was going to work I had the heat on and when I would stop at a light or go to park steam is coming from under hood but temp gauge is normal. So when I drove home same thing but not as bad, Is this related to the fuel pump? I hate to think I bought a lemon, because I really like the car and was hoping to keep it for a while. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi i dont really know what it smelled like, I have never had this kind of problem with a car before. It was under warranty so I took it in and they replaced the water pump and timing belt. Warranty company would only cover half of the repair, but I have had no problems with the car since.

So then it was the water pump! Good deal. Thank you for posting what fixed it.
