I just bought my 2001 Saturn L200 sedannot a week ago for college and the check engine light came on as I was taking the exit from the highway to go to school.

When I bought the car it had only 71k miles on it adn the test drive was absolutely perfect, shifted fine and power was awesome. I checked the engine oil as well adn it was almost clear it was so clean.I''ve noticed that the shifting has gotten a little rough over time, but its not too bad.

I''m taking it in to Advance Auto tonight (after class)to get a closer examination, but until then what may be the problem? I accelerate slowly, and set my cruise as soon as I hit 70 on the highway, I don''t understand what the problem could be.

Check the cap on your fuel tank - it might be loose
