It is difficult to get a straight view of every mark, it does appear to be off in this view. Line up the crank mark, then compare all four cam marks. I use a mirror for the mark on the rear head. Ignore any lines on the belt, those are only right on the initial install and never line up again.

is this engine out of time? It runs alright, no misses or anything.

The line on the crank sprocket is straight down at top dead center. The have you move it to 60 degrees off tdc to work on to protect the valves. You have to check it at top dead center. The line is down and lines up with the notch in the oil pump housing. Then check your cams. They don’t run too bad a little bit off but this engine has amazing power when it is right!
