Hi-new Saturn owner, can you tell me if this is normal. Now that it is hot out the temp gauge will read high especially when not moving. The gauge will go to about half way, which i checked is around 210. The cooling fan doesn't come on, but will come on when AC is on (which brings temp down) The ECTS seems to check out ok-but is difficultto check with the small pins. I haven't pushed it to see if the cooling fan comes on at a higher temp or it overheats. My question is this normal operation (the gauge moving to half way) or do I need to keep checking things

thanks Tom

Yeah, your temps are normal as the needle will go almost to the red line before the fan kicks in and the the temps will go down to between the 1/4 and 1/2 mark.As long as the coolant sensor isn't the original resin tipped one but a brass one you should be ok. If you have the original coolant sensor replace it immediately before you have other problems.
