so finally worked on the car some more, tried a new ignition control module while waiting for a computer to arrive, no luck there.

computer showed up and got it installed and she fired right up and went for a drive, ran great. put the car back together and it wouldnt start without giving it gas, then would run for 3-5 minutes or so and started shutting off again. no stumble or rough idle just like turning the key off again like before.

maybe a bad ground on the computer?? or a bad ignition?? still not getting the security light on the dash so i dont know

definitely seems electrical to me.

Isn't there some kind of procedure that has to be followed after replacing the computer? I don't know. Maybe Andy can tell you.

it was vin matched to the car when i ordered it. them we did the key relearn process. All i can think to do now is to trace every ground and plug on the car

I would remove the first oxygen sensor and see if it starts. Check the ground wire from the valve cover to the head near the brake booster end of the engine.

Have you done a compression test? Seems like you have fuel, fire and air. The only thing missing now is compression. Usually if you have all four of those, it should at least give you a good fart.
