2001 L200 Engine Dead, Need advice!
Hi!
I have a pretty big problem on my hands. I need a new engine in my Saturn apparently. The timing belt broke and busted my water pump and busted two of my valves. The mechanic said I would need a whole new engine, and getting a used engine and the labor would be $3000-3500. The car has 120k miles on it already and in Kelly Blue Book in excellent condition its only worth around $2500. The body is in good shape, but I just need advice on if its worth it to fix it or just take in it for scrap.
Thank You!

The ball is in your court. We can not come close to answering that question. We do not know your car, we do not know the condition of your car, we do not know what the cars is worth to you, we don't know how much your willing to spend on the car, we do not know anything other then you have a car that needs an engine. What you do is ALL up to you.

Sounds to me like you need to learn how to work on it yourself now. I'd go to a junkyard and get another head off a car, then go to the local parts store and get a new water pump and timing belt and tensioner and do it myself. But, I'm a cheap bastard and don't trust other people to work on my stuff anyway.
