I have a 2000 ls and having a/c trouble. A/C was working fine last night and today would not come on. I checked relays, fuses, freon, all good, electrical power is good to compressor. The clutch is free but not spinning. Is this a compressor problem or a clutch problem? Thanx

If it's A/C: The first thing you need to do when working an an A/C unit is to put a set of gauges on it. Your welcome.

I'll ask one question..............does the heater and blower motor operate?

Take a heavy gauge wire, and hook to the positive (+) side of the battery. Start the engine, and carefully touch the wire to the clutch control wire on the compressor. Does the clutch engage, and turn the compressor ??

AutoZone will rent you a set of gauges.

Direct voltage to the clutch control wire should cause the clutch to engage
