Can I install one of the used Modules as long as the numbers match up?
Will that mean that my odometer will show what the other car was reading?
Do I need to program anything? A couple of the sites said that the security light would still be on and another said that the keyless entry would not work.
Is this a good idea? Can I really mess something up? Any help would be appreciated.

 

I have switched bcms before as a test.
The odometer reading is stored in the bcm.
You will have to do a 30 minute key on learn for the security system.
The key fob is also a bcm function.
What problems are you having with your bcm?

 

There is also a BCM re-learn procedure that syncs the replacement BCM with your existing PCM.

Indeed, what has led to your condemnation of the BCM?
