02 Saturn l300 brake lines
Hello have the driver side brake line leaking when brake pedal is pushed looks like it’s coming from somewhere above gas tank am I able to route the brake line anyway I want to avoid dropping the gas tank? Also does that brake line go from abs module back to the caliper or is there one of those t fittings that branch off to both back brakes? Thanks for the help anyone

There are two steel brake lines running to the rear from the abs unit, one for each side. I think they run around the fuel tank not over the top. The driver’s side is a pain due to the exhaust, but I think you can replace the lines without dropping the tank.

Ok thanks for the reply my next question is will anything be affected if I reroute the brake line and zip tie it to the frame? I know it’ll rust and corrode faster but this car is gonna be scrapped come March so I’m not looking to do a professional job on it

A single flare is used for low pressure like copper water lines. A bubble flare is a type of double flare, out and in but not pushed back like a double flare. I think you can purchase lines with the correct flares that bend easily and connect them together to get close to the factory length. I have even left a curl in a line to loose some length.

I would NEVER use a single flare on a brake line. Too prone to cracking and leaking and putting everyone's life on the line. I'm not familiar with the "bubble" flare, but generally a brake line carries a double.
