What you see on the dash is only a display. So you do you know the "DISPLAY" is the problem?

my gas guage light and half of speedo lights went out...in an attempt to take appart the cluster to get at the lights, i think i must have damaged the "ribbon" of wires that feed the green circuit board. in the process i broke a couple of the tiny plastic keepers, and think just replacing all would be easier, found one on ebay for $64 but i heard someware the replacement would have to be reprogramed at the dealer

Brother...............I think your dealing with a plug and play. Now am I 100% sure of that? No I am not. A bit more searching on your part may get you a definitive answer. If this were to have happen to me......I'd be buying the replacement and plugging it in.

I'm with RjIon on this one. I THINK the mileage is stored in the BCM, so shouldn't be a problem.
