I have Saturn Ion 2007 2.2 ltr .

Just curious....When to check Engine oil ?
Cold Engine (in early morning). OR Warm Engine (After running for few mins and settles for few mins). ?

I have tried both ways and always oil level is different. It would be great help if someone give me answer.

 

Well, keep in mind that I'm NOT a mechanic, but I've been working on my own cars for over 50 years. I have always checked the oil in my cars while the engine is cold. Transmission fluid should be checked when the engine is hot.

 

Yes that seems like a good idea. I will follow it to check oil when engine is cold.
