I own a 5-speed 2004 lvl 2 with 52k miles that makes a loud knock every time i hit a bump. It''s been in a couple accidents, unfortunately, but nothing that could ruin the suspension or frame. The noise is most prominent when body moves laterally (pass. to driver). I''''ve changed the front tranny mount and the pass. CV. Still not going away. I checked the suspension mounts, sway bar bushings, engine and tranny mounts, steering tie rods, rack and pinion, and struts. All are tight and undamaged. Please help!!!! Any information available will be greatly appreciated.

As I thought, it was the sway bar bushings. As I''ve heard, it''s common for vehicles driven in colorado to have suspension issues frequently. I know I''m just rambling to myself, but I want people to be able to reference this in the future so they don''t go 4 months before getting rid of the annoying noise...

Have you looked at all the motor and transmission mounts, particularly the front and rear ones?

Disassemble the sway bar bushings, cover liberally with a good brand of rubber lubricant and reassemble ...
