Well in just 14 days of ownership, my OL was on the "I"
heading to work in a heavy downpour of rain & hit a surprise deep area, spun around 2 times before slamming into the guardrail. She was totally un-hurt. But car is damaged badly from the front bumper all the way down the drivers side to the rear bumper.

We go for estimate on wed.
The Goodyear Assurances (that came on it, are rated @ 700 UTQG is kinda hard rubber IMHO for a light auto.. Edited by: GearHead

Thanks again for the welcome..

(after some research) I find the GoodYear Assurances have some history of losing grip in wet conditions.
What a surprise..(not).

We have both traveled that same hi-way & same conditions w/our other vehicles & no problems..

I'd say the car faired well for the impact it got..
But time will tell..

I still think the tires would be better suited for a heavier auto..

Just none of mine..

Well the ion 2 has been back from being repaired for almost a couple weeks now.. Really turned out Beautifully..
And the damage $ amount was much less than I was fearing. So I have to say, Glad to have the new car !!!
It really protected my wife & since the body skins are replacable it was much easier fix. Body shop said that Saturns are a well built car (we alrerady knew this)
Since this is our second Saturn..
& Yes we replaced all the tires. Handles much better in the wet & all around too..

It's good to hear you got your car back in good condition. Nothing like a lego Saturn, just to easy to repair outer body parts.

Thank you, yes good to have it back & the "Cyprus Green"
oem paint (looks like a pearl)was perfectly matched.

No structural damage, just body skins & F&R lights..
Glad to be cruising in the Saturn again...
The new up-graded tires really make it handle much better..

When I was younger, I had a '63 Buick Riveria, which had steel bolt-on door skins. Guess that isn't a new idea..

Thank U Peepla-

I have to think so too. At Rush Hour & no-one else involved.. I call it a miracle too..
Wife was understanbly shook-up then too.

Now she is back enjoying her 07 ion 2

Yes, body shop said that Saturns are indeed a well built car.. & easy to repair (read low cost) compared to regular cars..

Thank you for your reply..
