well, i got the new vacuum hose today. I opened the box and was immediately disappointed. Hose looks far to short, and was contorted into an odd position and with the material, it wouldnt be put back easily. At this point, it wasnt a surprise. So much of what i get these days are crap quality or broken, or wrong.. that it wasnt a big surprise at all. - But i went out to get some pics to compare them better. And much to my surprise, and delight, my initial thought was quite wrong! They were actually the same length. For some reason i remembered it longer.. They were both also the same contorted shape. So i guess that was actually how it was designed. ... so i put the hose in!
Old hose, new hose, both hoses.
Put the hose in and tested it. It seems to have solved the issue. The rpms arnt spiking like crazy, no bucking or feeling like it would stall out. So it may well be the issue. Ill have to take it out in a few days to test drive it more. I also need to see if autozone (or someone else) can clear the check engine light code that this caused. See if it stays gone or comes back. But thing are finally looking up on that front.
I do have one other question tho. Does this sound right? Its the engine going while the cars parked in the drive way. Theirs a higher pitched sound along with the normal one. Both have the same... melody? to it, its just higher pitched/clicking. Not sure if thats normal, or if its just me, or if its another issue. - I dont often stand around with the hood up, runnign my car in the driveway. So im not sure. Pardon the cell phone video quality.
