Default Automatic Transmission clunk (2004 w/2.2)

Hello again folks,
I hope I am not asking too many questions:

While trying to fix up this 2004 coupe I experience a transmission clunk or 'hard shift'
I think I (should) want to check the trans fluid level and fluid condition. I understand the under vehicle level port.
Leads me to ask, what fluid is appropriate for this transmission and (like a 98 Honda civic) will the 'hard shift' benefit from 3 drain and refills ? (dilution (s))
What is your recommendation?

2003 Saturn ION 2 automatic with 2.2 hamsters and 148,718 miles (February 2025)

Drain and fill and maybe add a can of trans fix.

Top of post says 2004.
Bottom of post says 2003.

2003 and 2004 Saturn Ion coupes came only with the VTi cvt trans. So if it isn't automatic it is a continuously variable transmission and needs fluid which meets this specification.

150K is stellar for one of these POS transmissions

Yeah. Apologies 2003.
you know what Derf, you would likely make an excellent aircraft inspector.
