AC issues/questions
Back yet again, and with more questions. Mainly the ac ports, but ill get to that.
I have a 2007 saturn ion3 2.2L.
Iv wondered for a while if my ac wasnt cooling as well or if it was just me. Now i know its not just me. The last trip i took i gave it a try, and it was jsut a little bit of cool air coming out. Not a lot. Took a very small edge off, but that was it. Today when i went out and i tried turning it on, there was no cold air at all. It was pretty much room temp. Since its getting close to 20 years old.. it could be a number of things i imagine. But worth noting that the unit turns on, or more accurately, the little light that shows you turned it on, still turns on. And the fans are blowing. And that its been working, just with less and less cold air each time until today when it hit zero.
I was told by a guy i should try adding some freon/refrigerant to it first. Which is probably cheaper to test then going right to a shop.
So my questions feel fairly basic.
Does that sound like it could be caused by lack of refrigerant? Iv never added any that im aware of. I dont recall is a shop ever did or not, but i cant remember them doing so off the top of my head.
Does saturn ion 3's take R134A? Thats what i found on a search, but id like to confirm.
And the one that i probably should check the most... where is that low pressure ac port? / Is this the low pressure a/c port? I was looking. I only see one thing that looks like what iv seen. But they are not located together and the caps do not list a L or H on them. So i figured i should check on that before trying to add anything into them'
Thats the engine compartment. I do see a thicker metal tube and a thinner metal tube way in the back. But the thicker tube runs to the very front and then has the cap. Again, no L/H on them tho. And then the thinner tube runs to the back left (camera left) with a cap back there. Same thing with no L/H. Are these the correct lines?
Now while i can tollerate the heat fairly well, i have animals that can not. If i had to rush them to the vet today, with the inside of the car that hot, they would not survive. So a potentially trivial issue becomes a potentialy life saving or fatal issue.

thank you for that. I actually did search for that. Found some generic and non same cars as mine. But i could not find anything on a saturn ion at all. That one you posted did not show up in my search. So thanks for finding that.
