Question 2004 Ion 2.2 bushing for clutch push rod

I recently bought a new bushing for the clutch push rod going to the pedal since the old one wore out and the clutch pedal lifted up. I replaced the bushing and drove it to work but half way thru the pedal popped put for the push rod any ideas on what I can do or if I missed something. i looked at it after work and not to sure how to prevent the push rod from popping out again it has a new bushing and the white clip on the front is in good shape. Help please.

Plastic ball on the end of the clutch master is worn then.
I've cut a small piece of an aluminum can before to shove in there. Also seen people cut of a towel or some sort of fabric. Get creative.

It's pretty common. The correct fix would be to replace the clutch master.
Clutch lines are almost impossible to find these days, so need to be extra careful if you go that route. Spray some pb blaster or something on each end for a couple of days prior to swapping.
