And you didn't go back demanding them to fix it?
I would be beyond mad.
I have a stud and lug nut I can throw your way.

This still isn't ok though.

I could have gone back(I could go tomorrow in theory), but I'm not going to... My wheels looked like crap anyway, being severely curbed and one happens to be slightly bent(actually it's the one they changed, but it was bent before), so the deep (.030 or so) scratch doesn't bother me so much as the cross threaded stud... I literally had to wring it off to get the wheel off the car, the lug nut was stuck...

But that shop completely ruined a different WHOLE CAR for me, and took their sweet time in not really fixing the issue, and I nearly used them over it... I figured, how bad can they mess up a tire change? Apparently they can wreck one of those too...

cmon -- crossthreading a stud? You've got to be ****ing clueless to not notice the difference in how it feels going on...even the impact gun feel would be different.

They likely recognized you and figured you wouldn't make the connection until many many months later---and did it on purpose.

Drive back over there in your ranger and tell the manager you were checking the torque on the lug nuts and found this one not to be fully seated. You tried to tighten, but it wouldn't move. Tried to loosen....wouldn't move. Then noticed it was crooked -- and crossthreaded. Had to remove it for safety reasons and need a new stud and lug nut ON PRINCIPLE.

Before he can open his mouth.....

Toss the guy the broken off stud w lug nut attached (underhand high lob so you're not throwing it at him) and tell him you'll be by for the replacement later in the week. Be sure to say "Thanks for your help with straightening this out" (not just thank you) as you walk away.

I call it power negotiation

And tastefully SLAM them on Yelp AFTER you get your replacements.

Honestly I don't believe it's worth my time to deal with them any further... I will just get a stud/lug nut from Goalie and call it good... The shop took seven months to try and fix my first car(the Suzuki that I had when I joined here), and they never got it right, and I ended up having to sell it as-is... Why did I use that shop? They were open in a Saturday when I needed to order a tire... I called everybody else...

i didn't say you ever had to go to pick it up.........

people like that need a little dose of reality (read: passive aggressiveness) on YOUR TERMS, not theirs. In no way did I suggest provoking them. You're just calm as can be, asking for what's right, and walking right out the door -- all in one fluid motion

Sorry, but working in Big Pharma kinda forces you to be passive aggressive if you want to get anything done in a group setting on a cross department project where egos get in the way and opinions derail things left and right. Sometimes deliberately to try to make you look like an ***. It's half work and half strategy.

And that's only part of why name brand prescription drugs cost so much.....

I think I'm off topic.....

So, I got my GMS2 belt on today... No improvement, other than the belt not having cord hanging out... If not for that I would have kept it for a spare... Still running four lugs on the left rear wheel, but no issues so far... Not going to bother going back to that tire shop though... I fear I wouldn't be able to be civil, given the history I have with them...

You'd be surprised how much satisfaction you get out of staying calm and doing what I described above. It is the exact OPPOSITE of what they expect.

I'm dropping the subject.....

Was busy dealing with other stuff.

So, how does one remove the injectors? I need to replace the o- rings now... Idle quality has degenerated to something similar to having huge cams... Vacuum is jumping between -4.xx psi and -8.xx psi when the engine is cold... I'm sure fuel consumption is up, but it's hard to track the vac issue by itself as driving habits vary with every other condition...
