19bonestock88's 04 Redline BUILD:finishing somebody else's project...

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm really stoked about how it turned out, despite the imperfections in my tape lines and the one bad spot in the finish on the bezel(I haven't sprayed any dip in a while)... Actually I plan on doing the entire car at some point, as the paint on the car is scratched all to hell... I haven't been following dip for a while, apparently they now have a "super gloss" that can replicate the finish on a new car, if you can lay it down that smooth...
As for the OBD port, I'm waiting on Goalie to verify the color/pin locations on one of his base models so I can figure out if I want him to cut me one out to splice in... Given that I have no soldering equipment, I'm not sure how I'm going to achieve a good splice, but I'll figure it out later when I have a pigtail and port in my hand...
...and I still need to track down and fix my vacuum leak... It doesn't pull as much vacuum at idle or on overrun(coasting in gear) as I think it should, yet at full throttle, boost levels are normal... Makes me suspect a TB gasket or maybe it just needs a cleaning... Haven't done that since I changed the coil when I first got the car...

Ho, don't take my silver on black idea! lmao
I kinda want the fender stripes like on the vettes.
I totally forgot about the obdi port. I plan on pulling the trunk this morning to see the best way of making it wingless, ill check out that port for yuh first.

I do want to be lowered, but not quite slammed/hellaflush...
And I want a diagnostic port... How much pigtail can you get me?

Ok now it's getting whack;
basically:
4 and 5 are chassis ground and signal ground
16 is the orange 12V batt power
CANbus: 6 and 14 (hi and lo, respectively)
Goalie's descr meets this.
Bones -- you have neither 6 nor 14 so you're not running CANbus.
J1850: 2 Edit (no 10, see below)
My Saturns and most early GMs ran this
Goalie -- no pin 10 so no J1850 and confirms CANbus
Bones: you need 6 and 14 to run CANbus -- and you have neither -- so no CANbus.
So you MUST have a pin 10, and be running J1850.
EDIT: Actually, Pin 10 DOESN'T have to be there.... There is a variation of J1850 that is VPW (Variable Pulse Width) with no pin 10 that matches your odbII connector, Bones.
I misread and thought that PIN 10 HAD to be there for J1850 VPW to work; that's not true. Pin 10 needs to be there for J1850 PWM
And it WAS the GM standard (J1850 VPW) before CANbus came along.
Pin 10 has to be there for Pulse width modulation J1850 PWM to work:
CONCLUSION:
goalie's odbII connnector is pinned and wired for CANbus
bones' obdII connector is pinned and wired for J1850 VPW

so you can use the connectors from goalie. Just need a little trimming of unneeded wires.
I have a scrungy old soldering Iron I will give to you as a birthday present since you didn't invite me to the party.
Seriously I HAVE EXTRAS ---it's yours.
