Default 03 Ion Manual Transmission - Shifter Won't Find Any Gear

This issue has me stumped, so I'm hoping someone knows what might be causing this. My clutch seems to be working fine, the pedal feels no different than normal, but my shifter will not find any gears. I can actually rotate my shifter in a full circle; there is nothing there. I thought maybe the shift cables broke or came loose, but I checked and they both look fine and seem to manipulate the shift control housing fine. Right before I lost my shifter, it grinded trying to go into 4th. Currently, the transmission is in a neutral. Anyone have any ideas?

What about the transmission end of the cables? How do they look?

Yes, both shifter cables are manipulating the shift control housing at the transmission.

Pull the shifter boot off and take a look at the clamps and the housing the shifter sits in
