Default Swap BCM and flash ECM

I found the BCM was bad in 07 and want to swap that and flash the ECM. Anyone know if that sounds like it may work?

Default Had to take to shop 😞

I took to a shop it will be Monday B4 they look at it. This was my first engine swap. In my defense I though that they were the same year until I already had it tore apart!! Oh well we will see if I am able to say I was successful my first try. I almost had it taken back out before I found out the BCM was bad in the damn thing!! 🤞

Default Fix the other Aura!

This is the 08 Aura 3.5L it needs exhaust as well as engine. How is the best way to get best deals? I want to make this one have some extra horsepower, better fuel economy, and anything to make it faster without spending thousands!! Any ideas what where to begin?

So does it run? Did you replace the engine because it would not run originally? If so did it only need a BCM?

Don't know for sure, but I don't believe there was very much aftermarket support for the aura, not unlike the lack of aftermarket sport for the entire Saturn line.

If you wish to make it faster and have better gas mileage, those two are usually not compatible unless you're dropping in a small displacement engine with a big turbo on it. I would be happy with the V6. To get any real performance difference, you would need to modify things from intake to fuel injectors to exhaust manifold to rest of exhaust.
Don't know if any tuning program supports it.

And then you are in the thousands.

Doing one part without the other two basically just gets you in debt.

Default Ran momentarily

I got the 07 for $400 and it wouldn't start. Towed home and charged battery, tightened cables then it started. I drive 8 blocks and the engine seized up. I had 08 Aura took engine and put into 07. That's where this thread started. The 08 ran perfectly bat is in poor shape, exhaust is shot, ..... That's where I'm at Now. I did get a motorcycle running today and that's been fun!!! This mechanic stuff is pretty f'n awesome!! Makes getting a divorce kind of worth it suddenly!!

Hey guys, I'm new here and I am sorry if my question has already been answered. I tried my best in looking for it here. But my question is has any one heard of or seen an LF3 engine swapped into a Aura? I have a 08 Aura XR and their is absolutely no performance mods for this car. I dont know if the LF3 is just an updated LY7, but they seem close enough to fit, with some modifications of course. And yes I will be pairing it with a new 6T70 transmission that is specific to that block.
