Default Low Side A/C port location

OK, I tried really I did. Anyone know where the low side A/C port is on an 2008 Astra? It has a 4 cylinder ecotek Opel engine. Thanks.

On my car it is behind the engine on the passenger side back by the shock tower down low. I would imagine it is in that area on your car. Follow the aluminum lines from the compressor back to where they go through the firewall.

It should most definitely be in the aluminum lines. Follow Andy's advice and you shall find said port.

Thanks Andy and DERF. That’s what I thought, but the AC charger would not stay attached. Perhaps a just need a better recharging unit. Any photos of this thing? I’m seeing a silver 1 inch or so, port coming off the line, and coming out of a flatter round disc looking piece. I see a valve stem in it, but there was no cap

The connector on the hose from the can has to be firmly pushed on. It has some roller ***** that lock it in and if you just put it on there without a good amount of pressure, it won't lock on. You might try pulling up on the outside ring of that connector before pushing it on the aluminum connector. It's spring loaded.

+1 what he said

Pull up on the outer ring of what you're connecting. You'll know it when you get it,

Any success? I have the same issue. I want to charge it with cans of Redtek 12a.

I do believe this is an r134a system, so that may not be advisable.

It may also be why they won't connect. R12 and R134a connectors are different sizes to keep folks from accidentally using the wrong refrigerant.

I got it to fit by oiling the charger's port. The O ring inside was very dry. The fit is tight but as it happens, a lot of hammering didn't help. I didn't hurt anything (luckily) but easy did it.
When I unscrewed the handle, the seal kept, pretty much, but it I thought there might be a slow leak as fluid dripped from the dial and the back of the dial froze up a bit. Also saw
some green liquid around the dial later. When I turned the motor and A/C on it slowly blew cool air, that was reassuring.
