Default Astra inside door release handle broken off

Cheers all - I have this Astra, 2008, inside drivers door handle is broken. The chrome lever part. I'm having a bugger of a time finding one, so for a quick fix I was going to simply swap it with the rear drivers side, they look like the exact same handle, just to save having to open the window every time and reach out to the outer handle. So I popped the inner door skin off, maybe I went crazy at some point but to me it looks like its part of the door skin lol. It's like glue/press/melted/riveted to the inner surface of the door skin. No idea how to get it off. Is that why I can't find one online? Has anybody replaced one of these inner handles, on any Astra door?

That is not a common part to break. I don't think that handle was sold separately from the door panel.

I would buy a used interior door panel. car-part is a popular place to find junkyards or ebay.

The plastic fixing plugs tend to pull off and long part interfacing the window tend to become unglued. Use 2-part epoxy and clamps to reattach.

I think the North American Astra had just a few variants. These are the main ones but not all AFAIK
-front,
-left
-5 or 3 door
-XE or XR trim
