what was 500 bucks? the labour? or part? ..just alittle curious

??? $500 to replace an ignition switch ???

Apparently they told me it was the key tumbler assembly....parts and labour was pretty close to $500. A pretty expensive fix if you ask me!!!!

It would have cost a might bit less had you taken the car to the dealer for the ignition assembly, but then again you are in Canada.....Edited by: sw2cam

Here is something for you to try the next time your car fails to start in the morning - take a hair dryer to the keyswitch. Give it about a five minute treatment and try to start the car. If it works, that would validate the need for a new keyswitch assembly ...
