Default Replaced Alternator, Now having diff Problem

I've had my 2002 SC2 since 2005. No real problems and do basic maintenance. So when the battery light wouldn't go off I panicked. AAA said it wasn't my AAA battery, so alternator. I took it to my local mechanic, he replaced. Two weeks later it wouldn't start. After a pow wow with mechanic, now I'm having to click my car door opener 2 to 4 times, wait then it starts. WHAT is this. And why did it start now. Appreciate you schooling me.

It may have something to do with your security system if it has one. Seems just a couple of weeks ago that someone was having a similar problem and ended up finding a fix for it in the owners manual. I think it had something to do with resetting the door locks somehow. Someone help her out. I've been through two brain surgeries and my short term memory is almost non existent.

First thing I'd do is open my remote and clean the battery contatcs and make bloody sure the battery holder is not coming loose from the pc board. I'd put a new battery just because.

Thank you so much. Right now I have to leave key in off position, press key fob once, twice, three times then it starts. Rubehayseed, I looked at the thread. Thanks. Rjion I am going to replace battery and see if that works as per my manual.
