My uncle is on Maui and I think he has a Saturn... Do you know if another island has one or was that just his rich retired butt that had one shipped in?

I believe all the Saturns on all the islands arrived withmainlanders (to include military) moving here who brought their vehicles with them.

Maui is a high income retiree-island (well heeled) so they may have a dealer. Else, they get their service and parts from the GM service centers as do I.

I got mine through the used car dept of the Hilo GM dealer. It had been barged infrom the GM dealer on Oahu. The proverbial little old lady (GM service dealer secretary on Oahu) had bought and owned it for three years. It only had 24k on it. She had kept it in her covered parking stall. Not a scratch on it.

Sounds like one hell of a buy... Besides dealing with the emblem, hope you have a great drive...

I received the emblem but I don't know how to fasten it. It's about 2" x 3" andperhaps 1/8" thick. It has two stems protruding from theback. One, a 1/4" stub that keeps the emblem aligned within the recessed enclosure on thebumper and another, slightly tapered stem, protruding from the back of the emblem (about 1 1/4" long) that fits loosely into a hole in the enclosure in the bumper.

The problem is that the emblemdidn't arrive with afastener; I believe it would be the kind such as used witha necktie pinor an auto-compression spring-steel nut-like fastener.I'm wanting to glue it but I'mnot sure what type of glue would adhere to both the plastic backing of the emblem and the paint on the bumper, perhaps some type ofepoxy? I suspect the glue would ooze into and around the stem and its hole and therefore provide the most purchase.

Suggestions?

FYI:

Re: SaturnParts. After placing my order for the emblem I receivedan invoicevia email showing the totalcost to be $6.91(free shipping). Expecting the emblem to arrive any day, five days later I received a phone call from Gary at SaturnParts who said they had not shipped it yet becausethe shipping would be $30.00 extra. I asked if they could simply put the emblem in a CD type bubble-wrap envelope and sticka $1.00 stamp on it but he saidthat he wasn't willing to do that. I opted to pay the $30 shipping. That same day I received an emailreceipt for $6.91. Not a pleasant experience.
