i was wondering if anyone had any proof or trsting on what kind of exhuast works the best. on my racer i have ot cut off before the cat and was wondering if it would actually help to have exhaust on for some back pressure to make more torque

generally, for safety's sake alone, you should have the end of the pipe somewhere behind the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

bypassing or eliminating the cat is one thing, but you should really have more pipe there.

if your car is really a true racecar, its operating range is going to be somewhere north of 4000rpm. opening up the exhaust as much as possible is only going to help. if you have to street drive this car AT ALL, i don't recommend this because the car won't even come alive until you rev it hard.

ina race environment, your torque will come from high revs. adding backpressure will make it more bearable for cruising in traffic, but not so much on a track...
