Help you say .... Ok the first thing to do is get the car off the side of the road. Maybe home in your driveway.

make model year?

Sounds like EGR valve sticking causes wacky RPM gyrations, stalling, and rough restarts.

Get it in your driveway

Read the ODBII codes

Post them

OK - 2 "battery died" episodes indicates either charging system issues (alternator not charging battery) or battery not being able to hold a charge from the alternator or corroded battery cables not making good electrical contact.

Let''s see its a 99 so the original 3 yr crap battery is long gone (guess 2002), probably replaced by a 60 or 72 month (5 or 6 year) battery.

So I''m guesing your battery is unable to hold a charge......but we need to confirm.....

I would begin by jumpstarting the car in your driveway from a known good battery. Once started, let it run for at least 20 min (if it will) (to recharge the battery).

Turn it off. If you cannot restart (or even crank) the engine over, replace the battery. Watch for dash lights and CEL (SES) of course. If the SES comes on, PLEASE read the codes and post.

Once electrical issues are sorted out, we''ll tackle the rest....
