I need to let my wife park in the garage when we get the Escape back so I will do the axle not probably over the weekend because once I loosen it it becomes not very drivable. And we will have two cars back. I do appreciate the advice and I will follow through, unlike many of the troublesome one and done posters to this forum.

Sorry to hear about problem you are having Derf. I been chasing my tail for a month and have not been checking in. I've read all the suggestions and I too believe it is hub related somehow. Hopefully you get this figured out as I am also curious as to what is causing the "Clunk".

Had a bit more sleuthing to do on the Escape to find the source of a popping noise which has something to do with the strut mount /attachment. Escape goes for an alignment tomorrow. We'll see what comes back. I will get to this eventually. Haven't really driven it since
