competely destroyed... it resides in the scrap yard... how much dif is the 97 from the 99 and how much dif is the 02 fromt he 99?? isnt the 02 an eco tech motor?? like i said you are guarenteed a sale provided it wont be too hard to drop one of these in.. and the price is good... lol
99 and 02 should be exactly the same ..... 97 is the early style and you can drop it in but you'll have to take the intake off and swap for the late style cause the fuel pressure regulator doesn't plug in the same way ..... I've dropped a late (99) motor in a early (97) car before and other than the intake swap everything went fine. The late also has an added webbing cast in the front of the block so an early block heater won't fit. The location of the knock sensor is a bit different so you can't swap crankshafts and internal stuff but the plugs and signals are the same so the ECU will work anyways. The "ultimate" setup is late style shortblock with early style head and whichever intake (early or late) that matches the car it's going into. This setup raises compression by almost 1 point!!!!
