You want to be careful though with Postal Money Orders too. There has been multiple reports of those things being counterfitted (is that a word?) and not terribly uncommon.
I hear the pain, but it seems that it was not so much PayPal but an unscrupolous buyer that played the game right.
No system is perfect when it comes to internet sales or anything really. We for the most part depend on old fashion honor, a medium that seems to be lost in antiquity more so than we would like to believe.
I'd hate to recount the number of times I have read variations of the same theme mostly as a result of incredibly nieve sellers who seem to have a total lack of knowledge of what it takes to deal with internet business. The "I'll send you more money than services cost, you send me the change" approach seems to be one of the most popular and when looked at, the least logical but it works approach.
Dang.

My father raised me to be a man of my word and I am. If I give someone my word that I will do something, then come hell or high water, I do it. If a man doesn't keep his word, then as far as I'm concerned, he's not worth the price of the bullet it would take to put him down.

uncljohn is right. There are more scams than you can count. Especially dealing with the internet. Far too often the bad guys win.
