Winner
I think so. a few weeks ago I had dealings with Six planet auto parts and I had bought a PCM from them, which I got and didnt fit, nor was it for the cars with the AIR induction system. I emailed them, they agreed to exchange it, and I sent it on its way. 1 week - no contact. It was 3 days after christmas, maybe thier on vacation. 2 weeks - still nothing. Sent them one email. nothing. 2.5 weeks - I called them, and they said they would do something. 3 weeks - nothing still. Another email. 4 weeks I tried calling again, number was disconnected. Immediately on the phone with paypal and filed a claim.
I'm assuming they went under. I decided to do some searching and apperently there were a few scams from there - but that was for building an engine or major car repair really -i could care less now anyways.
Short story made shorter. They had 10 days to respond to paypals email. If no response, I win the case and get my money back.
the winnar is me

really? I guess i should have mentioned something before I did dealings with them
really? how did you get screwed?
I can see how they might have a bias toward the seller, but I hope they would deal fairlly, but its a big company so who knows.

My wife sold some of the home school cd's to another person on line as is. There were two grades and one disc was missing as my wife clearly stated in her ad. The lady who bought them even called my wife and said that one missing disc was no big deal, that at the price being offered, she could live with that. My wife sent them overnight and three days later, the woman filed a claim for a refund with Paypal, stating that one disc was missing. It was a Bible disc. Paypal sent my wife a notice demanding a refund. After arguing with them (they wouldn't look at the ad that clearly stated one disc missing) my wife had to refund the money. And then the woman never returned the discs. So, my wife was out of two years of home school discs and the money. Paypal refused to get involved as to having the discs returned to us. So, yeah, I think they screwed us.
wow, thats a dick move, you did get screwed there. Im surprised they didnt even look into the ad. You should have refused refund until you recieved your product back but I guess its too late now.
some people are just scum and say one thing and act another way. that buyer def did that on purpose.

Really didn't have any choice. They pulled the funds and gave the dishonest witch her money back just a couple of hours after she complained. That's why I cancelled the Paypal account and will NEVER have another one. One side of the story is all they cared about, no matter what. Whoever complains first, wins, I guess.
Ruby, while the story you describe is not a happy one, it sounds like you were the seller and the buyer filed a claim.
My experiance with PayPal more or less says they side with the buyer not the seller and that seems to be what you are describing.
Nor am I particularly siding with PayPal either other than they seem to have tendancy to deal with what ever a buyer claims and actually only deal with the handling of money, not the final dispostion of product. Also they handle money with off shore transfers of funds with a minimum or next to no fees and I don't know of an alternative method to do that through any other method.

I just ask people to send me a U.S. Postal Money Order nowadays. Once I receive it, then the product gets shipped. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice, shame on me. I won't do it again! But you're right, UnclJohn, they do side with the buyer as soon as a complaint is made.
