Band
Rage Against The Machine (RATM)
Why
Their earlier music (RATM, Evil Empire) is so raw, emotionally and musically.
The more I listen to the 1st album, the more I hear the bubbling cauldron of frustration poring out over the sides.
Too thrashy for many. Too each their own.
_________
Linkin Park must have grown up nursing to these records. No disrespect --they put their own spin on the genre and have a ballad mode when needed
________
People have called it rap metal. Whatever.
I call it raw raw music.

I've been stuck on Bring me the Horizon lately. Especially they're newest cd That's the Spirit.
I've listened to them for years, and its crazy watching how they mature every time I hear a new song by them.
They started as an aggressive angry metal band, and over the years how the meaning to their lyrics got more passionate and meaningful. It's quite obvious how they have grown as people and musicians.
BMTH is still metal, yes. But its on a much cleaner level now. They can always relate to your everyday life in one way or another.
I am a huge fan. Drove 5 hours to see them live back in 2013. I would do it all over again.

Lately, I've been stuck on Disturbed...their newest album sounds great... I'm noticing their sound mellow out slightly/slow down, but somehow still true to their background... I'm going to highlight here songs on the new album that IMO are worth a listen...
"The Vengeful One"
Has lyrical references to Satan, and demons, but great vocals, and good music to accompany them...
"The Sounds of Silence"
This band occasionally covers non-metal songs, and this one came out great... The lyrics kinda fit the band too...
"Who Taught You How to Hate?"
Speaks out against racism and bigotry, both problems that are running rampant in today's society... Sounds awesome in the process...
