Default New toy

85 honda cb450.

Grabbed this thing for $250 today. Ran last about a year ago. Dude was going to build a cafe racer, and decided he didnt have the time.

be a great commuter for my 60 mile round trip to work every day.

Plans are fluid change. New plug wires. New air filter. Straight pipes. And get back in the swing of riding before I make it faster.

Not the best pic. You get the idea.

And yes, I know its not strapped down correctly. I wasnt buying straps to haul this 7 miles with speed limit no greater than 35.

Anyway. Game 4 of tampa Bay lightnings and new York Islanders are on.

Well the only reason I'm straight piping it is for safety. To many entitled people on the road.
I'll take the noise ticket every time

The 450 is a nice bike. One of my older brothers had one when I was a kid and I loved to go for a ride on it. He sold it to another older brother and that azzhole trashed it. He is book smart, but has NO common sense. He ruined a nice bike because he doesn't understand how to work on them. I quit riding over 30 years ago, but would love to have another bike now that I'm older, my kids are grown and I want to die happy! LOL

Not sure if you guys remember I had an 06 shadow 250 quite some years back that I never got running because I was young and dumb and was messing with my now ex wife.

Ive wanted another bike for so long and couldn't pass this deal up. 450 should be plenty of power/speed for a commuter and really get a feel fpr the road.

This will be a whole different kind of speed for me. Ive done 150 im the redline before. And it could have been more. That's 4 wheels though. 2 wheels doing 80 will probably feed my adrenaline rush for a few months

Of course. Roads around here are terrible. Along with this new generation of drivers who have the attention span of a gold fish.
I started looking over it last night. The wiring harness is 90% in tact. Engine isnt touched.
I did realize the front brakes are low and the rotor isnt in the best shape. So I'm ordering new brakes for it. Gonna do the back also just because I'm in there.
besides that, no reason it Shouldnt fire off.

The adrenalin rush of doing 140 on two wheels is something you won't ever forget. Of course, the 450 won't do that, so you're safe. I had a V-45 Magna in 1982 that was the fastest bike I ever owned. I decided to get rid of it before I got killed on it, so traded it in on a 1984 Chrysler Laser XE Turbo. That car was very fast too, but I felt safer on two wheels! And I ALWAYS wore a helmet. I'm too good looking to have a closed casket funeral. LOL
