Derf#2 is a Guns N Roses tune. Don't know the name, but I'm pretty sure it's guns n roses. What say you, derf?
Bonestock19......How could you, how could you, how could you hate me? I did a search and found yours. I like the tune. Do you want me to share what I found out or let the others wonder for a while?

Here's another one for you guys. We'll call this one Rube #2, okay?

I should have known you'd bid me farewell
There's a lesson to be learned from this and I learned it very well
Now, I know you're not the only starfish in the sea
If I never hear your name again, it's all the same to me

And I think it's gonna be alright
Yeah, the worst is over now
The morning sun is shining like...........

Rube---Correct. Derf #2 = GnR. "Street of Dreams", from the grossly underrated Chinese Democracy album with the new lineup. It's a headphones album once you narrow it down to the 5 or 6 solid tunes on the album. So much going on yet it's not all smeared together. I'd love to know how they made so many layers of sound "transparent"....

Rube #2 sounds like Gordon Lightfootish stuff but not quite

and no, if you google, do NOT post the answer -- that would be a violation of rule *2 (above)

I'm revising my first post as new needed "rules" evolve so that they are all in one place for those who come along later....

Nope, #2 isn't Lightfoot. I'll give a hint, it's a tune from the late 60's. That's all I'm saying.

Y'all, I suck at guessing, but I bet I can stump you. More important than the name of the song is the name of the band. Hint: oldie from a pretty well known southwest regional band, circa 1980 ish:

TNvikesfan #1

You shot the tv
but you were aimin' at me
I dodged and you missed
by a mile.

Our love failed the test
now you're under arrest
and I won't have to see you
for a while.

You've got me there, Ginny... It almost sounds country...CCR perhaps?

And, after two shifts at work, I have another set of lyrics...

"bonestock-3"

Drop the hourglass of time
Spilling sand you will not find
As we gather here today
We bid farewell,

The slave becomes the master...
...and if you figure that one out, I have YET another!

"bonestock- 4"

When I first saw you standing there, you know
Was a little hard not to stare

So nervous when I drove you home, you know
Being apart's a little hard to bear

Sent some flowers to your work, in hopes
That I'd have you in my arms again

We kissed that night before I left, still now
Something I could never forget

You've got all that I need...
... And maybe if the song doesn't get solved in a while(length to be determined), the OP can(at his/her choosing) maybe post the title for those too stubborn to google the lyrics...

Tnvikesfan #1 -- Garth Brooks ? -- " I've got friends in lowly places?" or something like that? I am pretty much ear deaf to country. Not because I don't respect it-- I do -- it's just not my general cup of tea.

If any of you post country, then you've got me. I can't stand country music. I worked in the industry back in 1980 and have NO respect for it at all.

Ok, y'all, yes the genre is country and this particular song is by chuck Wagon and the Wheels. They did some 'real' country as well as the humorous stuff. DH found a couple tapes and lined them in to the PC so now we have them converted to MP3s and can listen to them again!

For me, if it's not GOOD country or Classic Rock type, it's mostly off my radar. DH listens to a lot more varied stuff than I do. I do, however, enjoy some of Colt Ford's stuff. Go figure.
