most rental places these days rent the newer model years. so if it's 2013 & up Escape.....
oooooooppppsss.....that's what I get for having no memory
The base model engine of the Escape line is a 2.5 L 4 cyl nat aspir. -- but it actually gets a tiny bit worse mileage than the 1.6L Turbo. In 2014 you had a choice betw the 1.6 and 2.0 w the midgrade SE package --we got the the 2.0. Now you have to buy the bloated Titanium package to get the 2.0. They shot themselves in the foot on that one. Must've been a new hire from GM making that call

Billy I'll sell you the Ion for $7,000 or buy me a suv with pretty good gas mileage that has a 3rd row and not too many miles and then pay the $3800 I owe on the ion. And we have a deal. Lol

Everybody who had the SOHC four cylinder in a Ford Ranger wanted the factory snail from the older Mustang SVO, myself included... Just bolt on the exhaust manifold, mount the turbo and plumbing, tune it and go... Of course the internals in those(the ranger, not the SVO) are only good for about 5#, so power was limited unless you swapped the factory 2.3T internals in...
