Doesn't get a whole lot of miles per year but they are fun miles when it does. No electricity was used in the detailing of this vehicle.
Only one picture because I was across the street and too lazy to get up off my *** and take more.
Meguiar's premium liquid wax, microfiber applicator, good ol fashioned soft cotton towel and a bunch of elbow grease. For whatever reason, hazed wax is next to impossible to remove from the clear coat of this vehicle. And the black is so dark, any leftover wax sticks out like a sore thumb.
I've toyed with the idea of getting a random orbit buffer and putting some polish on the vehicle just to see what it takes to blind other drivers in the sun, but I haven't tried yet.
As for ceramic coatings, ceramics are just a different class of polymers than the waxes. To my knowledge, they wear off just like the waxes do or shall I say they also break down. If ceramic coatings truly bonded to the clear coat you've never need to have it redone. Blow up the picture and you will see zero swan marks.
Escape waxable surface area is about 1.5x that of Audi, which itself is 1.5 x the surface area of the 95SC2.
For whatever reason, I absolutely cannot get dried wax or shall I say hazed wax off of that car.. I have always used Meguiar's wax products and they work wonderfully on the Saturn and the escape. Maybe has something to do with the clear coat on the Audi. Even after a clay bar, Just doesn't work right and I spend an extra 45 minutes chasing underolished spots
57 k on a 2016. Got it in 2018 w 26K
. So 30K in 6 years is 5K /year.
It was meant to replace the 95 as my commuter vehicle for work, which lasted all of 6 weeks before COVID hit. I've been working fully remote ever since but I'm sure to keep it running frequently. It's a blast to drive.
No electricity!?!?! My shoulders began to hurt when I read that. My hats off to you for being able to pull off those results without power tools. I got a Griot's Garage detailing kit 15 years ago when I got my S-10. I figured I would learn how to detail a car in the event that I ever got a decent paint job for the Crown Vic. Still waiting for that event *rolls eyes*
