Don't for get Oldsmobile too. The corporate platform approach to building cars dictated by accountants and budgets let to assembleges of things that were created all over the word from common parts bins with no attempt at product identity other then the badge with the name on it and the appearance a function of what the parts looked like when bolted together let to Chevys made in Korea that down shifted to drive into headwinds. Not to mention the inability to tell one from another unless you were reading the badge. To me one of the prettiest cars made recently is the new Caddy Coupe. But again the V6 motor was another one of those off shore corporate platform V6's, finicky and problem prone and almost impossible to get parts for. Also I think one used by one of the last Saturns, with the same problems. The V8 of course was a Chevy.
To me, the words; Made in America does not mean assembled in America from Parts bins all over the world. Or as it means in some cases, the badge indicating it is a Chevy is applied at port of entry when it is rolled off of a ship from from Korea or Japan.
And yes, I am opinionated, and narrow minded about it.

Saturn outsold

Cadillac
Buick
Oldsmobile
Pontiac
Hummer
Saab

for many years. On paper Saturn didn't make money....On paper the way GM shuffled numbers that is. Maybe now GM will not be able to stroke one division to prop up another. Opel/Vauxhall will be the next to go. Holden has a new lease on life via the Australian govt.

Said this back in JUne of 2009

Penske to buy Saturn from GM
by RjION on Sat Jun 06, 2009 6:53 pm

I wish Roger well ........ and hope like hell he gets the dealers cars people want .... no more ASTRAs thats a good thing.

Ok thats what I want to say and thats how I want to feel.

Now this is what I think.

Roger is buying Saturn?
Who in the world will sell him cars so he can put his SATURN name on them?
Why in the world would GM sell him cars to put the Saturn name on them?
Why in the world would anyone sell him cars so he can put his SATURN name on them?
Who wants to face added competition from Saturn?
This entire Roger/Saturn thing looks all to hokey to me.

In other words RIP SATURN
GM and Rodger are doing something but has nothing to do with the sale of SATURN

Opel,Vauxhall may last another 5-6 years

Default Saturn ION Forums

Looks like another SATURN site is going down the tubes. Saturn ION Forums is being spammed and it's not being deleted by the mods, or fixed by site admin.

Seems hit and miss but I've been getting notification that my IP is blocked from the site. I may open two or three threads and thats it....I'm blocked. I may not get the notification at all like yesterday so I thought it was a simple glitch....but it's back at it again today. So along with all the damn spam the site has other problems. Will any of this be addressed by admin..........who ever admin is.

This site has a few things that are annoying also...the damn got milk ad pops up over and over and over. The ION forum does not open to the newest post no matter how many times I change it.........ADMIN FIXED THIS. Thank you.

I just went over to the ION forum to register and was unable to get the registration to work at all.
The home page does not look as if it has been updated for years but there were seemingly current posts in the forum itself.
