I need to add fluid to the car and the manual specifies silicon fluid. Specifically Delco Supreme 11 Brake fluid or equivalent DOT-3 brake fluid. That type is no longer available. The substitution is synthetic not silicon. Is that ok to use?

 

.DOT 3 is glycol based.
AC Delco supreme 11 is glycol-based.

Please check the manual.
The statement may read to be sure not to use silicone based brake fluid, as you cannot mix glycol based and silicone based brake fluids.

Any DOT3 brake fluid will work fine.
