Others will likely confirm that Cali's tight regulations regarding emissions only allow you to use a high-performance C.A. R. B. approved gas cap to improve performance --it lowers the gross weight of the vehicle by 0.003%, providing improved brisk acceleration.
You are unfortunately living in the wrong state w r t pepping up yer satty.
There was no real aftermarket support for any of the lines w r t performance back in the day and there is even less now.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I moved from Glendale 39 years ago, but there used to be a speed shop in Glendale and another in Pasadena. We used to race Stock cars in Saugus on the 1/3 mile flat asphalt track and at Ascot on the dirt track. I know there are tuners doing imports all over LA but the Ecotec market is limited. I don’t know what you can get away with as far as the smog ***** go now. Maybe put a 50 hp nitrous bottle on it and take it off when you have to smog your car.

Yo ya’ll lol, looking for a console arm rest for my 96 sl2. It has 344,440 or so miles and I still like the thing. Floor is rusted out on back pass and wondering if it’s worth restoring or am I looking for a fight with this thing. Thnx
