My dad was born in TN, left as soon as he could after college and then the army, moved up north, but he never lost his southern drawl.

The only church we have in Georgia is in Valdosta, which is just a few miles from the Florida state line. It would take us several hours to get to the church if we moved to the Chattanooga area. I guess we'll relocate to the Valdosta area for a few years in order to help grow the church membership and THEN I hope to land back in TN.

Couldn't you start up your own church? Only one in the entire state? Any one I would have heard of?

Funny you should mention that. I'm studying to become a minister in the church now. Not sure how long it will take, but that is my ultimate goal. The church is Alpha and Omega and is non-denominational. Most of the members (500+) across 5 states, are black. My father in law started the church over 50 years ago and he passed away on Christmas Day in 1989. No, I'm not black and neither is my wife, but including my family of 4, we have about 8 white members right now. I love my people and will do what I can to help guide them to a better and more respectable way of living, which is what we all need to be doing. Every member of the church is either in school or working. Some even have 2 or 3 jobs, so I think we're doing okay.
