So I was just wondering where the camshaft position sensor was located at and I had seen that some people were saying we have an exhaust sensor and an intake sensor so I just want to know where they’re located and also part numbers for them please.

 

They are mounted at the driver's end of the cylinder head, the intake sensor projects out of the side of the cylinder head toward the front of the vehicle, and the exhaust sensor (if it's there) projects out toward the rear of the vehicle. (Apparently, not all 2.4L engines in the Ion in 2006 have an exhaust camshaft position sensor.) Both sensors have the same part number, GM 12674704. RockAuto has them available for $36 each.
