While a general statement on what a motor looks like when it fails is probably not universal across the board. i have lost the drivers side door motor and the passenger side looks to be on the way out. Phoenix, is hot and then it warms up some. And in the heat of the day a worn out motor seems to give up and when it gets cooler at night they seem to start again.
On my Saturn anyway.
And that is the only comparison I can make.
