I was thinking about how long it would take you to post that while writing my last post

I had overfilled an A/C system before with a recharge can without a pressure gauge on it before. I made sure to buy a can with a pressure gauge on it this time. It costs a few dollars more, but I'd rather do it as properly as I can.

Indeed most wise.

Most of those low side gauges unscrew from the can, so you only ever need to buy one w a low side gauge and then just reuse it as needed

Why thank you. DTruck!

(None of the following is meant to offend you or anyone else on the forum--it's just an explanation)
-------------
We all know how verbose my answers tend to be for sometimes simple questions. The reason for that is simple.

If I have a decent enough chunk of info/knowledge(?) in my head to address the subject in its "entirety" or in the bigger context of something that puts it into perspective that will be helpful to know, I start typing train of thought. Whatever comes out, with some minor editing to keep it on topic and followable, is what gets posted.

I realized a long time ago, once I had learned enough about Saturns and other basic functionalities of automotive subsystems, that I could shoot off a one or two line answer that addresses the immediate question but it MAY not explain why the answer makes sense within the context of the operation of whatever it is.

That is absolutely fine. We all do that at times; at other times we don't. It's often the most appropriate response to a post.

However, if I see the opportunity to surround the answer with a bit more context to enhance someone's understanding of the bigger picture, I do so.

I know you regulars stop reading my posts mid way and I'm fine with that. The extra info is there in the hopes that the OP or someone else comes along and might use it to further their understanding of an issue and solve it more quickly.

And then THEY can pass it on

Believe it or not, SOME of us regulars read your entire posts, derf. I like learning new stuff, whether I have a reason to apply them or not!
